Our Mission Statement and History
The mission of The Family Foundation of Greater Miami is to increase the awareness, promote prevention, educate and reduce the stigma of HIV/AIDS.
The Family Foundation of Greater Miami is a volunteer program and was founded in 1990 by Rev. Darryl K. Baxter after his brother died of AIDS.

Community Activities
Conduct HIV/AIDS workshops, trainings & certification classes in partnership with the Florida Department of Health
Host Annual World AIDS Day Celebration
Host Annual AIDS Awards and Benefit Banquet
Host The National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS
Host Annual Memorial Day Family Picnic
Educate people involved in high risks behaviors as well as the general public
Promote abstinence among teens
Provide appropriate information and referral with regard to the services and resource s available to people affected by HIV/AIDS
